Ashley Allison (Senior Editor) was born and raised in Youngstown, Ohio. She is a journalist, law student, former educator and social advocate.
Ashley focuses her time on developing relevant policy regarding affordable housing in New York City. She has worked for the Brennan Center for Justice at NYU School of Law where she focused her work on election policy, campaign finance reform and voting machine standardization. Ashley is a former NYC high school special education teacher.
During her spare time she works as a freelance reporter for local television networks and various news publications. She is the national co-chair of Information and Communications for her sorority, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
Ashley holds a B.A. in Journalism and Political Science from The Ohio State University. She then went on to earn her Masters in Education from Long Island University. Currently, Ashley is a 2011 Juris Doctor Candidate at Brooklyn Law School.

Jean McGianni Celestin (Writer) has written for various publications across the country, including The Root, a division of the Washington Post Company. As a guest-speaker and writer, Celestin often explores issues endemic in the African-American Community and the development of community-based leadership amongst urban youth. He has spoken at the Fortune Society and Rikers Island Correctional Facility in New York, and was on the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity National Delegation for Haiti Relief.
Celestin holds a B.A. in Political Science with a Minor in History. _____________________________________________________________________________
Jason Henry (Writer) is a southern boy born and raised in the heart of Alabama. He’s a social and political activist and has worked with organizations nationwide in an effort to better serve his community.
Currently he’s the liaison to the African-American community for the Young Democrats of Orange County in Orlando, Florida and previously served on the young leadership board of Ronald McDonald House in Birmingham, Alabama. He is also an active mentor to at risk teenagers on www.icouldbe.org.
While serving as a contributor to The Watering Hole, he is also the Orlando Obama Administration Examiner on Examiner.com and the lead blogger for the Dallas Cowboys on Fanhuddle.com. Henry also hosts his own radio show on Blogtalkradio.com entitled “Monday Night Quarterback” that focuses on the National Football League.
Jason holds his B.A. in Business Administration and has plans to pursue his Masters in Public Administration in 2010. He and his wife and are expecting their first child in March of this year.

Craig Knight (Writer) is a 39-year-old educator from Atlantic City who now resides in Bedford Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. He currently teaches special education at Boys and Girls High School. He is a talented songwriter and guitar player who has traveled the world performing with the group A Touch of REALLITY. Knight is also a featured artist and producer of Vice Lounge.
Knight holds a B.A. in English from Kean University where he was a former varsity athlete. He has a Masters in Education from Pace University and is currently pursuing his Master in Liberal Studies from The New School.
The primary reason he writes is because he still believe that conversation is an art form; although at times it seems very much like a dying one.

Halle M. Malcomb (Writer) is the owner of WeDesign Graphix LLC, where the client’s vision is interpreted through creative graphics. WeDesign serves national and international clients. Some of her clients/partners include The Ohio State University’s Multicultural Center, Micro Biz Coach, Columbus Urban League, IMPACT Community Action, RAMA Consulting Group, Inc., KG Multimedia Group, 361 Studios and WrightChoice, Inc. Ms. Malcomb is also the Graphic Designer at Girl Scouts of Ohio’s Heartland where she preserves its brand image in publications and numerous marketing materials.
As an active mentor for over eight years, Ms. Malcomb has mentored college students studying graphic design at Eastern Kentucky University and The Ohio State University. She is an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and a mentor for Delta GEMS, a program for teens. She is a member of the Columbus Young Professionals Club, the Ray Miller Institute for Change and Leadership Alumni, the Columbus Society of Communicating Arts (CSCA), and a volunteer for the Diversity Enhancement Program at The James and the Young Women’s Empowerment Conference. Ms. Malcomb has also been featured in the entreprenuer section of both Who’s Who in Black Columbus 2008 and 2009 editions.
Born in Cleveland, Ohio Ms. Malcomb currently lives in Columbus and is a graduate of The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science in Visual Communication Design and a minor in African American and African Studies.

Ehi Uwa (Writer) is a New York-born social activist and law school graduate. He is currently working for The Uwa Law Group P.C., which is a family created law firm based in New York and Atlanta. Along with this, Ehi is also involved in community development through his work with Transform America, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the education system for underserved communities.
Ehi holds a J.D. from Brooklyn Law School and a B.A in Urban Studies from New York University.
Ehi’s writes to give a perspective on current affairs and politics that is not often brought to the forefront. A perspective that is often disregarded, and often not available for review. The perspective of a young, educated, black male still entrenched in the community is not prevalent, but it is available, and Ehi sees his writing as a beginning of a new discussion in our society.
